Beginners Workshop Series

First and foremost, everyone, a sound congratulations to our newest teacher, Michelle Sine (her toes pictured here at left)! Michelle practiced for nearly 10 years before working toward teacher training. She completed her year-long teacher training intensive program with Lyndsay and Todd, which included a 16-week study of the 1st and 2nd book of the Yoga Sutras, studies on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, (and of course all that stuff you see us do on the floor at the studio and stuff), the Yogastha Sadhana method and so much more. We are thrilled to welcome her expertise and knowledge to her weekly spot on the schedule — a new class on Sunday mornings at 10am. Join her weekly, and catch her when Lyndsay goes out of town and leaves the secretlotusyoga studio in good hands 🙂


Top Series, which will be instructed by Michelle Sine. A Physical Therapist who knows the body well, Michelle will lead students in four 2-hour sessions through sun salutations, standing poses, beginning arm balances, seated poses and finishing poses including backbends and headstand. After completion of the course, students will have a solid foundation from which to work on the mat on a regular dedicated basis at the studio. Reason why deadline is important? Lyndsay is leaving for Costa Rica on February 9, returning back to the studio on February 21 and she won’t be answering her phone from the jungle 😉 Below is the modified available schedule where Michelle will be subbing many of the classes:

Yoga Sutra 1.3: Tada drastu svarupe vasthanam — then, upon the cessation of the mind fluctuations, the Seer abines in its own True Nature.

“Let the Seer See” Meditation

Sit in your stillness and place yourself into the role of the observer. Allow your mind’s eye to see your form in its seat, acknowleding your uniqueness and your outward appearance that you identify with strongly. Now turn inward and look into your eyes as if you were looking in a mirror. Acknowledge here that you are indeed looking at yourself but somehow you see behind both sets of eyes. One of these sets of eyes is your small self, looking through limited lenses without realizing its own limitations. The other set of eyes is that which sees all without needing to see a thing as it is indeed the Seer and the Observer and the Knower of all things. Look through the lens of the Seer.

Absorb yourself into the gaze of the eyes that Know for a moment and repeat silently in your mind, “Let the Seer See.” Create space where you are able to gaze through the eyes of Love.

Work hard while I’m gone. And gaze through the eyes of Love. Pura vida and namaste…
